Danelectro Cool Cat Vibe Pedal

I was listening to a couple of 70's albums recently, Dark Side of the Moon and Robin Trower Live.

One really nice effect which Dave Gilmour and Robin Trower use on these albums is a univibe, unfortunately the original versions now fetch quite a high price and a lot of the clones are quite expensive too.

Luckily Danelectro come to the rescue with the Cool Cat Vibe pedal for around £30. This is a good quality pedal, metal case, true bypass foot switch and nice big blue LED.

It does suffer from a couple of known faults, there is a jump in volume when it is switched on and there is also a bit of a delay before the effect comes in.

There are several websites that show how to do modifications to get the LED flashing in time with the speed control and to lose the delay as well as fix the volume issue.

All in all though, it's very good value for the money and probably out vibes some of the more expensive pedals.

I have heard good things about other pedals in this range too, such as the Transparent Overdrive which is supposedly quite similar to some 'boutique' pedals.
