I recently played through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and really liked the sound and the way it responded to the guitar. The only problem was it was way too loud, even though it's only rated at 40 watts. I also like quite a warm sound, so had to cut the treble down by quite a bit.
The Fender Blues Junior is 15 watts and single channel. It has spring reverb, a master volume, a 'fat' switch which boosts the sound slightly (this can be controlled with a footswitch) and an external speaker socket. It also has more of a mid-tone.
I have the limited edition 2-Tone wine red version, it was a lower price than any of the other options and I really like the look of it too.
Although the amp can be overdriven slightly without effects using the master volume and the fat switch, it does work really well with pedals.
